AI-Readiness
Built ready for AI search and assistants.
Your site stays discoverable as customers shift to AI-mediated search. On Studio Care and Premium Care, your site ships with the structured data, metadata, and tool definitions that search engines and AI assistants need to find, describe, and act on your business.
What Is Changing
More customers are starting their search through AI assistants.
Where the question used to be “find me a plumber near me” typed into a search engine, it is increasingly “find me a plumber, check their reviews, book the appointment for Tuesday” said to ChatGPT, Claude, Chrome’s built-in agent, or Perplexity. The businesses these assistants can read, describe, and act on get the introduction. The businesses they cannot are bypassed.
This shift does not eliminate websites. It changes who reads them and what they have to look like underneath. The visual layer stays for the human visitors who still arrive directly. A new structured layer sits alongside it for the AI assistants that now arrive too. A Pellmark site on Studio Care or Premium Care is built to satisfy both.
The Foundation
What ships with Studio Care and Premium Care.
Five components are included with every Studio Care and Premium Care site at no additional cost. Some are established web foundations. Others follow optional or experimental web conventions, but Pellmark includes them as carefully implemented additions and updates them as their practical value becomes clearer.
Schema.org markup
What it is:
Structured data added invisibly to your pages, telling search engines and AI assistants exactly what your business does, where it operates, what it offers, what it costs, and what reviews exist.
What this means for your business:
When a customer asks an AI assistant for a recommendation in your sector, your business is described accurately rather than guessed at from page text. Search engines surface richer results: opening hours, price ranges, ratings, and direct links to the right page on your site.
llms.txt
What it is:
A file at the root of a site that follows a proposed, optional convention for presenting selected information and links in an LLM-friendly format. Pellmark includes the file as part of the Studio Care and Premium Care foundation.
What this means for your business:
Some tools may choose to use the file, but it is not a crawler-control standard or a proven ranking signal. Google Search ignores it, so it neither helps nor harms visibility there. Pellmark includes it as supplementary infrastructure, not as a substitute for crawlable pages or sound SEO.
Structured business profile JSON-LD
What it is:
Machine-readable business facts embedded across your site: name, address, hours, services, prices, reviews, and certifications where they apply.
What this means for your business:
This keeps important business facts explicit and consistent in the site markup. It can support ordinary search features and reduce avoidable ambiguity, but it cannot control or guarantee how an AI assistant describes or recommends a business.
Open Graph and Twitter card metadata
What it is:
The metadata that controls how your pages appear when shared on social platforms or quoted in messaging apps.
What this means for your business:
When a customer shares your site, the preview that gets generated reflects the page’s intent: a clear headline, a clean image, and the right description. Pellmark sets these on every page so the share is always on-brand.
WebMCP-compliant tool definitions
What it is:
An experimental implementation of a proposed browser standard that lets a website expose selected actions as structured tools to compatible browser-based agents. Pellmark includes these definitions on supported primary forms within the Studio Care and Premium Care foundation. Chrome currently provides WebMCP through testing features and an origin trial rather than general browser support.
What this means for your business:
When a customer asks an AI assistant to book an appointment, request a quote, or submit an enquiry on your behalf, the assistant can do it directly through your site rather than asking the customer to switch over and fill in the form themselves. Fewer drop-offs. More completed enquiries.
The Names You May Have Heard
AEO, GEO, and what they mean here.
You may see this work called AEO (answer engine optimisation) or GEO (generative engine optimisation). These are industry labels, not separate universal standards. For Google, established SEO remains the foundation for generative Search. Pellmark therefore starts with clear, crawlable content and accurate information, then adds structured or experimental features only where they have a defined purpose.
Managed Monthly
Premium Care goes further than the foundation.
Your AI presence is managed monthly: a visibility report showing how ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews see and describe your business; AI search optimisation passes that improve how assistants find and recommend you; and cross-platform business profile management that keeps your Google Business Profile, Bing Places, and emerging business directories in sync.
On Studio Care, the same managed service is available as an add-on at £99 per month.
Essential Care covers the managed website itself and does not include the AI-readiness foundation. If AI search matters to your business, Studio Care is the right starting tier.
GBP prices shown are the total payable.
Why Now
Why this matters now.
The browser standards and AI search behaviours are shipping mainstream this year and next. Sites built to the standards work with the assistants customers are starting to use. Sites that are not get bypassed. The cost of being on the right side of this transition is approximately zero if it is built in from the start, and meaningful if it has to be retrofitted later.
Every Studio Care and Premium Care site has the foundation in place from launch. As the standards evolve, your site evolves with them at no additional cost; updates are part of the managed plan.
Your Side of It
What you do not have to do.
- You do not need to learn any of these standards.
- You do not need to update them yourself when they change.
- You do not need to write a separate AI version of your site.
- You do not need to opt in. The five-part foundation is included with Studio Care and Premium Care, by default.
Underneath the AI-readiness foundation, your site is still designed for the human visitor first. The structured layer adds capability rather than replacing the visual one. Both audiences are well-served by the same site.
